Barely a week has passed in 2014 and Headset Buddy is already excited about a major technology conference. International CES (an acronym for Consumer Electronics Show), “the Global Stage for Innovation,” began this week on January 7th in Las Vegas, Nevada and it will run until the 10th. Clearly, Headset Buddy’s line of customized communication technology products fall well within the category of “consumer electronics,” so the team here is on pins and needles watching as the announcements and speakers and new innovations rush out over the next few days.
For those not in the know, CES is a trade show with international reach that shares major new electronics and technology with some of the most renowned industry pros and major brand names/companies in the world. These well-vetted guests come to Las Vegas from all over the Earth to see where the industry is turning next. Recent major unveilings that made headlines in the past few years were Austin-based electronics company AMD’s 2012 demonstration of their Trinity APU’s and Sony announcing the Sony Xperia Z smartphone in 2013. Headset Buddy hopes that some of the phone conversations, keynote broadcasts and millions of other communication events at this year’s CES are made a bit more efficient by our headset adapters and other products.
Keynote speakers at this year’s CES include an incredibly strong lineup of power players from across the tech world. From CES’ WEBSITE:
“The Tech Titans Keynote series is the stage where CEOs from the most powerful companies in technology present their vision for the upcoming revolutions in products, services and networks that will shape the next wave of innovation. Interpreting services in Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Spanish are available on-site.
The Technology Innovators Keynote series offers insights by innovators, thought leaders and disruptors – the “rock stars” of their industries. It is a stage for those with big ideas that are reframing the way technology will impact our interaction with the world today and in years to come.”
Check these names: Intel CEO Brian Krzanich, Sony president and CEO Kazuo Hirai, Yahoo! CEO, president and director Marissa Meyer (which will be a controversial keynote, to be sure), AT&T senior executive vice president John Donovan, Twitter CEO Dick Costolo and Facebook vice president Carolyn Everson. Love or hate these brands, it will be undeniably illuminating to hear these figures speak.
It’s not just speakers at CES, though. Events are equally attractive to the massive group of tech pros attending CES. Get a full list here, but here’s the description for the singularly interesting CEA MoDev Hackathon:
“The CEA MoDev Hackathon is the exclusive on-site developer event of CES. At this event, 100 of the top mobile developers in the world will compete for up to $100,000 in cash and prizes on the world’s most important technology stage. Developers will have eight hours to develop an app in one of four available prize categories as determined by the first four category sponsors to commit to the event. Technology sponsors will be offering prizes for apps that utilize their APIs, Platforms, Services and meet their judging criteria. The event will take place at the fabulous Venetian Hotel and will accommodate developers, sponsors and serve as the official HQ of the event. Sponsorship spots are available on a first-come first-served basis. Total prize pool will vary based on sponsor prizes and whether or not apps qualify for them based on sponsor criteria.”
