Headset Buddy will be at South By Southwest 2014

Do you hear that? That rustle in the leaves – and in the conversation of Austin, Texas citizens – must mean that the South by Southwest Festival is once again upon us. This great city’s epic cultural gathering, which features the bright lights of the stars of film, music, and interactive media, begins on March 7th and runs until March 16th. Headset Buddy, for its part, is obviously excited to get in on the SXSW action. We know that with all the conversations, panels, conferences, and presentations being given and attended to, our communication technology products will be much-needed.

Now, there are great events happening for both the music and film portions of SXSW, and the Headset Buddy crew would love to be in the audience for any one of them. But our true calling is in the interactive portion, where tomorrow’s communication tropes, memes and major disasters/revolutions are discussed and analyzed. This series of hobnobs, Q & As, panel discussions, keynotes and other buzz words always draws a heavy hitter list straight from international front pages. For example, SXSW (website: http://www.sxsw.com/interactive/about) is writing up the Interactive portion of this year’s festival in the following manner:

“The 21st annual SXSW Interactive Festival returns to Austin from Friday, March 7 through Tuesday, March 11. An incubator of cutting-edge technologies and digital creativity, the 2014 event features five days of compelling presentations and panels from the brightest minds in emerging technology, scores of exciting networking events hosted by industry leaders and an unbeatable lineup of special programs showcasing the best new websites, video games and startup ideas the community has to offer. From hands-on training to big-picture analysis of the future, SXSW Interactive has become the place to preview the technology of tomorrow today. Join us in March 2014 for the sessions, the networking, the evening events, the 17th Annual SXSW Interactive Awards, SXSW Accelerator, the SXSW Gaming Expo, the SXSW Trade Show, SXSW Create, the Digital Creative Job Market, cross-industry conversations with attendees from SXSW Film and SXSW Music, and, most of all, the unforgettable inspirational experiences that only SXSW can deliver.”

Some of the major names at this year’s SXSW Interactive include controversial Wikileaks founder Julian Assange (no stranger to cell phones and headsets, we bet), fitness hub Equinox president Sarah Robb O’Hagen, Texas State Senator and gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis, former U.S. Secretary of Education Rod Paige and more.

As Headset Buddy always does, we can’t help but think of how many of our communication technology products could be of great use at an event like SXSW. For instance, how many smartphones are going to be searching for signals around Downtown Austin alone during the fest? A 2.5mm to 3.5mm Headset Adapter for iPhone, Blackberry and Smartphone (SKU: 01-PH25-PH35) would allow any number of “industry folk” and Austin visitors to make their deals and have their conversations while being able to at least watch where they’re going. The Headset Buddy website introduces the smartphone Headset Adapter as such:

“Want to use a better headset with your smartphone or iPhone? Buy the Headset Buddy Adapter and use 2.5mm phone headset with your smartphone, iPhone, or tablet that has a single 3.5mm plug.

A big productivity enhancer for home businesses, call centers, sales people, road warriors, or anyone who is on their smartphone all the time, and wants to use a higher quality PC headset.

Specs: This adaptor converts a standard 2.5mm headset plug to an iPhone/Android/Blackberry 3.5mm plug, allowing you to use your favorite phone headset with your cell phone or tablet. Since most 2.5mm headsets are mono, this Headset Buddy was designed to output mono sound. If you have a 2.5mm stereo headset, you will only hear one channel of sound out of one ear. The adapter cable is approximately three inches long.”

Share your SXSW expectations with Headset Buddy, and be sure to let us know if you need something to make your communication more efficient and enjoyable.
